Review Gadget : Nokia 700 VS Nokia C7 Hands-ON

The Nokia 700 is the first Symbian Belle smartphone to land and while the update for the Nokia C7 has yet to start rolling there are plenty of similarities to both devices right now. For example, the Nokia C7 was the first Nokia smartphone to ship with NFC (Near Field Communication) on-board as standard, and was also one of the first Nokia smartphones to ship with ClearBlack Display technology allowing you to view the screen no matter the lighting conditions.
The Nokia 700 is the first Symbian Belle smartphone to hit the streets and we've been testing it out over the last few weeks and have been impress with its speed, size and versatility. Here we compare it to our Symbian Anna Nokia C7. Find out more with our Nokia 700 versus Nokia C7 hands-on review.

Where the two differ is in screen size, with the Nokia 700 having a smaller 3.2-inch screen, as opposed to the 3.5-inch touchscreen of the Nokia C7. Both device shave the same 360 x 640-pixel resolution with a 24-bit brightness, so images look sharp and bright.
The Nokia 700 is the slimmest smartphone in its class right now, so with an overall weight of 96g, it's a lot smaller and more compact than the 130g of the Nokia C7. Then there is the fact Nokia has packed a 1GHz processor into the Nokia 700, so you'll find that simply moving about the device is a lot quicker and smoother.
The Nokia 700 doesn't have it all its own way, as you'll find its 5-megapixel camera is still out-weighed by that of the Nokia C& with it's 8- EDoF camera. That said, other than the pixel count, you will find that the Nokia 700 pretty much offers everything you'll find in the Nokia C7 but in a slimmer and more compact design.
When it comes to mass storage, the Nokia C7 comes with 8GB opposed to the mere 2GB of the Nokia 700, but the smaller handset delivers 512MB of system RAM and 128MB of graphics memory, which is certainly more than the Nokia C7, which helps apps and games run smoother and faster.
We're seriously impressed with what the diminutive Nokia 700 has to offer. If you've not already checked it out, it's well worth giving a test drive. Own a Nokia 700? Let us know what you think in the Comments below.
